Movies, underappreciated.

Films. In such a media-filled generation today, you’d think we are pretty much well informed of the various genres of movies that come through the cinema screens each weekend. Ranging from Action to Thriller,  the common movie-goer is so much so “experienced” in the art of film-making and the painstaking labour seasoned into the masterpiece by the director, its varied acting ingredients providing the special flavour that we crave so much.

But then again. What do we truly know about real film-making? The standard movie-goer is well-versed in the names of blockbuster movies.

Me?

I am more of the unorthodox kind of film lover and proud of it. I prefer to indulge in pieces showing life, documentaries, a story that captivates. Musical scenes where its characters regale in taking advantage of others’ misery. An experience revolving around an awry superstition or ritual. The journey to self discovery. These are the films which I appreciate, among the many common ones that prevail the screens each day.

Oh, and the best part? I can watch most of these in the very comforts of my home.
